Biography:  Stewart Fotheringham is Professor of Computational Spatial Science in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning at Arizona State University. He previously held positions as Director of the Centre for GeoInformatics at the University of St Andrews in the United Kingdom and Director of the National Centre for Geocomputation at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth in Ireland. He has co-authored 9 books, over 100 articles in refereed journals and has received over $15 million in grants. He is a member of the US National Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the UK's Academy of Social Sciences. His research interests are in Geographical Information Science, spatial statistics, spatial interaction modelling and the spatial analysis of any type of spatial data including crime, health-related data and house prices.
